Old chairs are an
endangered species: uneconomic to repair, once they start to sag or
wobble many are simply thrown away. Yet they're often beautiful and of
fine quality; reviving them could be a good investment, and easier than
you think.
I store distressed chairs (see below, price
ranges £10 to £30) in my workshop; they can be viewed
by arrangement. Upholstery classes are
available locally, or my colleague Nora
can do the job for you.
